About Me

I am a licensed psychologist who provides individual therapy to individuals during pre-pregnancy, pregnancy, birth, postpartum, as well as throughout the span of motherhood.  I graduated from Boston College's doctoral program in Counseling Psychology and prior to that I received my masters in Mental Health Counseling from Boston College and Applied Sport Psychology from John F. Kennedy University. (Apparently, I like school).  My clinical training includes providing inpatient and outpatient therapy in hospitals, community healthcare centers, a college mental health center, and schools.

I am very interested in careers supporting people's sense of self as well as their mental health.  My training in career work likely started with my training in Sport Psychology which was rooted in leveraging strengths and optimizing performance.  I dove much deeper into vocational counseling in my doctoral work at Boston College as well as working with Veterans to identify satisfying and meaningful work that matched their individual needs.

Working in perinatal mental health combines many of my interests including women's health, social justice and racial identity, the mind-body connection, performance psychology, attachment, and career.  And, I also get the incredible privilege to help mothers process pregnancy, birth and postpartum. My clinical approach heavily relies on Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, although I have been trained in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Psychodynamic Therapy. In addition, I am passionate about training providers to be more racially and culturally responsive.

I bring authenticity, education, and compassion to my therapy relationships.  Research continues to demonstrate that shutting down emotions doesn't help us in our mental health or functioning.  I work with my clients to increasingly tolerate the difficult emotions (or allow for grief) in order to experience a rich, full life even when anxiety is present. I also value connecting clients with resources, supporting increased self-knowledge, and bolstering skill development to improve self-advocacy and stress management.
